Established in November 1985, the Bombay Commerce Educational Institutes Association (BCEIA) is a public charitable institution. BCEIA is an umbrella body of commercial institutes operating in Greater Mumbai Municipal Corporation area.

Aims and Objects of BCEIA are:

• To create and encourage close cooperation among member institutes teaching Shorthand and Typewriting plus vocational subjects.
• To render necessary services to all by approaching authorities charged with redressing common difficulties and specific grievances to to students attending classes at member institutes.
• To acquaint Government of Maharashtra Officials with the need and requirements of changes needed i the rules of GCC examinations.
• To establish uniform teaching practice.

Over the years several founding members left us, several member institutes closed down their activities. However BCEIA did not shirk away from the activities enshrined in the Aims and Objects and continue to provide quality vocational education, preparing them to appear for the GCC examinations.

In 2013, Maharashtra Government introduced Computer Typewriting in Marathi and English with several additional features.
